Exposure to electrosmog in cars is often underestimated. Studies and the experiences of those affected show that it is precisely the modern technologies in vehicles that cause increased radiation levels.
“The other day we rented a car from Avis (new Mercedes C Class), but we didn’t get very far. We were plagued by a severe headache shortly after driving off. We exchanged the car without further ado. The Avis employee explained that some people have problems with electrosmog due to the increasing technology …” This report by an affected person in an Internet forum shows that electrosmog has long since become a problem not only in buildings or public transportation, but also in private vehicles.
Study by Biel University of Applied Sciences
Because the steel inserts in car tires are magnetically charged, they generate magnetic fields while driving(K-Tipp 11/ 06). According to a study by the Biel University of Applied Sciences, the problematic fields from a health point of view are on average between 3,000 and 10,000 nanotesla. They are therefore several times higher than the installation limit for new high-voltage lines in places such as homes and schools. They are subject to 1000 nanotesla.
Electromagnetic fields in hybrid cars
In hybrid cars with a combustion engine and electric motor, the drive system converts the excess kinetic energy generated during braking and idling into electrical energy. The electric motor uses this energy to support the combustion engine in driving the vehicle. The currents that flow through the vehicle’s electrical circuit generate magnetic fields. Whether the low-frequency magnetic fields generated by the tires pose a health risk is not known, according to the website of the Federal Office of Public Health’s (FOPH) Non-Ionizing Radiation Information Centre. People who want to keep their exposure to magnetic fields to a minimum as a personal precaution can have their car tires demagnetized in some specialized garages in Switzerland.
More and more technology, more and more radiation
Other reasons for the increase in electrosmog in cars can be found in vehicle technology: more and more vehicles are packed with electronics. This is used to coordinate all assistance systems on board. These include, for example, alternators, seat heaters, ignition systems, miles of wiring, central locking, rain sensors, automatic lights, a large number of electric servomotors, ventilation/heating control, ABS anti-lock braking system, ESP electronic stability program, sensors, microprocessors, on-board instruments, sound systems, diagnostic systems, soon the electronic brake assistant and much more. In addition, when driving, there is exposure to radio waves, caused for example by the navigation system with GPS, the car phone, cell phone, Internet, multimedia systems, television, etc.
Even more technology, even more radiation
An intelligent stroboscopic headlamp system is also under development, which is designed to direct the light around hailstones, raindrops or snowflakes after measurement with a high-speed camera. Experts anticipate that electrosmog in cars will increase considerably in the future due to the development of robot cars.
Electromagnetic fields in electric cars
The number of electric cars on our roads will also increase significantly in the future. This in itself is a positive signal. But with electromobility, the sources of electrosmog continue to increase. Not only the electric cars themselves are sources of electromagnetic fields, but also the increased number of petrol pumps emit such electrical impulses into the environment.
CarTuner from Swiss Harmony
One way of protecting yourself against electrosmog in the car is the CarTuner from Swiss Harmony, for example. Above all, however, the device also eliminates the harmful effects of driving on people and animals by masking the frequency of the electrosmog with a new, harmonious vibration quality. As a result, the vehicle occupants are unaffected by static charges and the ever-increasing electrosmog. As a recent study carried out in the licensed “Emissions Analytics” laboratory in London has shown, the CarTuner also reduces fuel consumption as well as carbon monoxide and CO2 emissions.
