Trivialization strategies and other machinations of the mobile phone industry lobby

Two documentaries take a look behind the scenes of the mobile phone industry’s machinations and explain the dangers of mobile phone radiation for our health. In many places, these warnings are having an effect. In Switzerland, over 20,000 people have lodged objections to 5G antennas since June of this year. And the trend is rising.

The 25-minute documentary video “War Gaming for Profit. Mobile phone radiation, cancer risk & industry lobbying” by diagnose-funk.org shows the strategies of the mobile phone industry against scientists. Previously unpublished original material with contemporary witnesses documents the methods used to deny the research findings on the cancer risk posed by mobile phone radiation, including character assassination campaigns against the scientists. Organized scientific fraud

The result was the so-called “War Game Memo”, an internal war game plan that was already used in the 1990s as a method of organized scientific fraud in the cigarette industry and is used today in the mobile phone industry. “Swiss population imposes a de facto 5G moratorium”

Regardless of the uncertain facts and the risks that seem to emanate from the new 5G mobile communications technology, the three mobile network operators Swisscom, Sunrise and Salt have submitted over three hundred planning applications for 5G antennas in the past three months. Meanwhile, opposition to 5G is growing strongly in all regions of the country, and with it the number of objections to 5G planning applications. The population has brought about a de facto 5G moratorium by means of objections. Since June, over 20,000 people have lodged objections to 5G antennas. This shows a clear rejection of 5G by the Swiss population.

Only average instead of maximum value in the planning application?

Until now, operators of mobile radio installations have had to state the maximum transmission power of the planned antenna in their planning applications, as can be seen from the press release issued by the “Protection from Radiation” association. From this it was possible to calculate whether or not the applicable limit values were being complied with. For adaptive 5G antennas, however, it appears that since June 1, 2019, maximum values no longer have to be specified. According to the press release, applicants can specify a different value, for example the average value. “The legal limits are complied with on paper, but never in practice,” criticize those responsible at the “Protection from Radiation” association. The association has now created a building rights department to support the population in the event of objections.

Video interview with National Councillor of the Greens

Mobile phone radiation has long since taken on a political dimension that is likely to gain momentum shortly before the elections. On September 9, the “Protection from Radiation” association published a video interview with National Councillor Michael Töngi. The fourth candidate to make himself available for the video interview series was the National Councillor of the Greens and member of the PGNIS (Parliamentary Group on Non-Ionizing Radiation, Environment and Health).
