“Bubentrickli” for mobile phone limit values

Lobbyists and Federal Councillor Leuthard apparently want to circumvent the Council of States’ double decision to maintain the limit values for mobile phone installations via the back door. The following report shows what this means.

“In the storm that is now following, the already well-known Swiss border value fraud is likely to have been a mere breeze.” writes Hans-U. Jakob, President of GigaherzSwiss interest group of electrosmog sufferers. This is because the preliminary consultation committee in the National Council (KVF-N) is using a “nasty cattle dealer’s trick” to demand nothing less than 36 times more powerful mobile radio transmitters. Even the business-friendly “Tages-Anzeiger” and “der Bund” speak of a “bubentrickli”. “But first, under the guise of combating child pornography, websites critical of mobile communications must be blocked from the Internet,” criticizes Hans-U. Jakob.

Network blocking

According to Gigaherz.ch, the Commission for Transport and Telecommunications has held additional hearings for the upcoming detailed consultation on the TCA revision. The focus was on access regulation, the introduction of 5G technology and network blocking. At its meeting, the KVF dealt with the revision of the Telecommunications Act and held additional hearings. On the subject of network blocking, the Commission has obtained more detailed information on the procedure and the exact process when websites with child pornography content are discovered. Of particular interest were the advantages and disadvantages of the various methods (deletion/blocking) that are available today. It also requested additional information on the cooperation between Fedpol and the international organization Inhope, whose representatives and experts took part in the hearing. “The intention to block websites with child pornography content, which is welcome in itself, will then very quickly be followed by calls to also block websites with content dealing with the tragic consequences of non-ionizing radiation. Just as the well-known mouse and rat professor from Bremen has already tried to do several times. So far without success. That could change very quickly,” fears Hans-U. Jakob.

Easing limits at the expense of public health

The Dachverband Elektrosmog Schweiz und Liechtenstein: “It is less than a month since the Council of States rejected an increase in radiation limits for mobile phone installations for the second time, as it did in 2016. Despite this, the mobile communications industry and its lobby are calling on Federal Councillor Leuthard to relax the limits single-handedly and bypass Parliament.” Corresponding orders have apparently already been placed with the Federal Office for the Environment. What are the mobile operators interested in? In the fall, the Federal Council plans to auction off additional radio frequencies for mobile communications. To ensure that the frequencies can be used as profitably as possible, the limits are to be relaxed at the expense of public health. “Those responsible know very well that practically all industry-independent studies over the last 20 years have shown a high risk of serious illnesses. Anyone who claims that there is no evidence of damage to health from radio radiation is spreading untruths or deliberately lying. Common sense would dictate that the limits should be tightened rather than relaxed in the interests of precaution,” says the umbrella organization. The lobby dictates a cheap trick so that antenna masts can still emit more radiation without a nominal increase in the limit value. For irradiation, the limit value should be calculated as an average value over 24 hours. Internationally, however, the current maximum value is decisive. The 24-hour average would make the Swiss population one of the worst protected in the world. The National Council committee’s proposal comes at a time when the latest studies are showing harmful effects of mobile phone radiation in the range of the current Swiss installation limit – and at a time when France is implementing a program to reduce antenna radiation. According to the 2015 law, mobile phone installations there should no longer emit more radiation than those in Switzerland. “Technically, it is obviously no problem to offer reliable cell phone services even with lower limits. Instead of promoting mobile telephony with relaxed limits, it would be much more important from an economic point of view to finally push ahead with the expansion of fiber optics to homes,” demands the umbrella association Elektrosmog Schweiz und Liechtenstein.

Trivialize, distort, falsify

Similar inconsistencies and “bubentrickli” can also be observed in other countries – for example in South Tyrol: As diagnose-funk.org reports, in May 2017 the South Tyrolean consumer advice center presented a report on Wi-Fi in schools in which it sharply criticized the policy of the provincial government. The state government is basing its plans to introduce WLAN on an expert report it commissioned, which proves that WLAN is supposedly harmless. However, the state government’s report trivializes, distorts and falsifies the study situation. This has been proven by the South Tyrolean Consumer Center. A year ago, she presented this criticism to the public and it was widely reported in the media. According to diagnose-funk.org, the report by the consumer advice center reveals in textbook fashion the methods used by industry and governments to falsify the study situation. To date, the state government has not responded.

Generate a harmonic oscillation field
