When the smartphone controls people

More and more people want to get rid of their smartphone addiction because they have realized that they are controlled by their smartphone – and not the other way around. It is therefore all the more important to teach children and young people how to use this technology correctly and consciously.

“Controlled by the smartphone” – this was the title of an article published by “Schweiz am Wochenende” on October 6 about the difficulty many people have in putting their smartphone down. The author presented a new iPhone function that should make this step easier. The author subjected himself to a self-test. “I picked up my phone 117 times in one day. If you subtract the screen-free time at night, that means I unlock it every six minutes. Instead of controlling the smartphone, the smartphone controls me. That can’t be healthy. That has to change, I told myself.” The author decided: “From now on, before I reach for my cell phone, I think about whether it’s really necessary. My usage statistics show that I’ve been successful: I was soon under a hundred smartphone unlocks, then 80, which according to a study corresponds to average usage.”

“Too often on the cell phone”

According to a survey, every second Swiss person thinks that they are on their cell phone too often. According to a study of around a thousand respondents by the consulting firm Deloitte, 48 percent of smartphone users come to the conclusion that they are on their smartphones too often. In the 25 to 34 age group, the figure is as high as two thirds. As the current Deloitte study “In a smartphone frenzy: German mobile phone users profiled” shows, not only does almost everyone have one of these digital all-rounders in their pocket, they also use it around the clock. Voice telephony is on the decline, with communication dominated by messaging services and emails. The device is also popular as a second screen when watching television. Surprisingly, Germans in particular seem to attach great importance to a clear separation of professional and private use – and over a third are trying more or less intensively to wean themselves off.

Guide for children and young people

But how do children learn to use media in a self-determined, sensible and healthy way? The recently published guide “Growing up healthy in the digital world” by diagnose:media offers very comprehensive knowledge for parents and educational practitioners in a compact and easy-to-understand format. The aim of the guide is, on the one hand, to provide information about the dangers and risks of new media. He provides information on the following aspects: communication behavior, the potential for addiction, the protection of privacy, sites on the Internet that are harmful to minors, liability issues and the adverse health effects of continuous exposure to mobile phone applications. On the other hand, the guide shows protective measures and possible courses of action to avoid dangers or to be able to deal with them appropriately. To this end, the guide offers a pedagogical point of view that shows a suitable balance between the needs of children and young people and the restrictions that are necessary as precautionary measures to avert danger.

200 scientifically peer-reviewed studies

Anglo-Saxon scientists and doctors, who have joined forces in the MobileWise association, present in their publication “Health risks from mobile communications: Why we must take action to protect children” notes that “to date, more than 200 peer-reviewed scientific studies have been published that indicate a link between long-term cell phone use and serious health problems”. They conclude that against this background there is no alternative to rapid measures for education and prevention.

Evidence of health and environmental risks

New wireless standard ‘5 G’, ‘Smart Cities’, ‘Industry 4.0’, ‘Smart Homes’. – These are just a few new terms from current discussions that have one thing in common: Behind these terms lies the fact that our society’s exposure to radiation from radio technologies and applications will continue to increase. Evident health and environmental risks are still not adequately perceived. Several new publications from diagnose:funk.org offer well-founded insights into current issues and developments in the mobile communications debate. If you would like to find out more about the new 5G mobile communications standard and its consequences for people and nature at a seminar, we recommend the Gigaherz seminar on November 17 in Schwarzenburg.

Generate a harmonic oscillation field

How can you protect yourself and your children from high-frequency radiation and electrosmog? “The law of resonance states that no resonances can occur in an oscillation field with oscillations whose frequencies lie outside those of the field,” says Richard Neubersch, owner of Swiss Harmony in Grellingen, a company that specializes in the harmonization of electrosmog. In other words: In a harmonic oscillation field, artificial radiation has no effect, regardless of who generates it, whether it comes from a neighbor or a nearby mobile phone mast. The mobile products from Swiss Harmony (BioRing, BodyCard, BioBracelet and the BioPatch) harmonize the human body by transmitting the harmonic vibration as information to the human energy system. This means that artificially created radiation fields can no longer resonate.

Protection from harmful radiation

In concrete terms, this means Products from Swiss Harmony for harmonizing houses and apartments ensure that the electricity that supplies a building with electricity receives a different message. “They transfer the information of the visible light spectrum to the passing current via the resonance path, which in turn distributes it throughout the entire effective range of the circuit,” explains Richard Neubersch. The electromagnetic field of the apartment or house thus becomes a harmonious field. In-house WLAN transmitters, cell phones or cordless phones are interference-free because they are connected to the harmonic current field and therefore emit the same harmonic information.

Thanks to cell phones: dead pants instead of fertility

Epidemiological study with soldiers confirms the results of laboratory and animal studies: soldiers who used their cell phone more than 20 times a day had a significantly lower sperm concentration on average than soldiers who used their cell phone less than once a week. This is the result of the largest epidemiological study conducted in Switzerland to date.
