Barmer-GEK, one of the major German health insurance companies, summarized the findings of epidemiologists in its 2013 medical report under the heading “Generation ADHD is growing up”. The underlying study found that almost 20 percent of all boys and 7.8 percent of girls born in 2000 had been diagnosed with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) between 2006 and 2011.
Even if the prescription of the most common drug Ritalin has even shown a slight downward trend since then, the all-clear cannot be given. On the one hand, the prescription of so-called neuroleptics, a special type of psychotropic drug, has risen sharply in children at the same time. On the other hand, in the 15 years before that, i.e. in the period from 1998 to 2013, the consumption of the Ritalin active ingredient methylphenidate had increased around tenfold(source).
Is there an interaction between ADHD and electrosmog?
It is also striking in this context that the number of mobile phone connections in Germany increased almost tenfold from 13 million to around 115 million in the same period. Despite numerous studies, the causes of ADHD have not yet been conclusively clarified. However, it is scientifically well documented that the behavioral disorders of ADHD children are triggered by a neurobiological dysfunction in the brain.
With regard to mobile phone radiation, it is understandable that the blood-brain barrier opens after a short time when using a cell phone or smartphone. This in turn means that toxins and proteins can enter the brain unhindered and damage the sensitive nerve cells.
Against this backdrop, it comes as no surprise that the “Ärztearbeitskreis Digitale Medien Stuttgart” (“Doctors’ Working Group on Digital Media Stuttgart”) criticized the introduction of tablets and Wi-Fi in schools in an open letter to the Baden-Württemberg Ministry of Education and Social Affairs in October 2014. Among other things, reference is made to the work of the well-known brain researcher Prof. Manfred Spitzer, the author of various books such as “Digital Dementia” and “Cyberkrank“.
Free harmonization at schools possible
The Swiss company Swiss Harmony would like to educate school teachers in particular about the enormous radiation exposure caused by mobile phones and WLAN and raise awareness of the fact that primary school children in particular are even more affected by the harmful effects of electromagnetic radiation. Schools have the option of having a free harmonization carried out by Swiss Harmony. Electrosmog removal is also advisable in the private sphere – by harmonizing the house or apartment or using suitable mobile products such as the BioPatch or BioRing.
