Artificial intelligence can recognize and anticipate our feelings and moods better and better. Will looking at our smartphones soon replace the process of self-reflection? How well are we still connected to ourselves? And do we recognize the consequences of our actions in time?
The following text is an excerpt from the study “Wellness 2030. The new technologies of happiness” by the Gottlieb Duttweiler Institute (GDI). Today, all major tech companies are investing in research into artificial emotional intelligence or “affective computing” – in other words, in the development of systems and devices that can recognize, interpret, process, simulate and predict human emotions. According to the GDI, artificial intelligence should help us to make better decisions. But not only the creators of these technologies see opportunities in them: for example, the philosopher Alain de Botton lists the following advantages in an article for the tech magazine “Wired”:
Self-knowledge
Feelings are complicated, and we often fail because we ourselves don’t know what is good for us. Artificial intelligence (AI) could help us to understand ourselves better and make smarter decisions. Especially when it comes to emotional questions such as: Who should we build a relationship with? Empathy refers to the ability and willingness to recognize and understand the feelings, thoughts, emotions, motives and personality traits of another person. The basis of empathy is self-awareness – the more open a person is to their own emotions, the better they can interpret the feelings of others. AI could help us to better empathize with and understand other people. That would help us to deal with conflicts more wisely. Learning is often inefficient. We often don’t know which type of teaching suits whom best, when someone is receptive, when they need a break and what motivates them. AI could help to change this. Consumption decisions are usually a mixture of intuition, hope, habit, peer pressure and chance. As a result, many people are not happy with their purchases. AI could help us to get to the bottom of our true motives and thus make consumer decisions that make us sustainably satisfied.
No connection to yourself
The technology for emotion recognition is not yet fully developed, and it remains to be seen where it can and may be used sensibly. However, the possible applications for “emotion tracking” and psychometrics are expanding. Smartphones are already taking many decisions for us or helping us in the decision-making process. But do we really need it? Are we now so far removed from ourselves that we need technical aids to make our own decisions, explore our emotional state or interpret other people’s feelings? Of course, anyone who relies solely on smartphones and artificial intelligence will lose touch with themselves. That’s when artificial intelligence comes in handy. Perhaps it would do some people good to listen to their own voice again – instead of staring at the small screen in front of them.
Radiation and health exposure cannot be estimated
It’s good that people haven’t completely forgotten how to think, despite smartphones and the like. Especially when it comes to the planned introduction of the 5G mobile communications standard. According to a report on diagnose-funk.org, a new legal opinion by the law firm Pfisterer Fretz from Aarau has revealed that the radiation and health impact of the new 5G network with adaptive antennas cannot be assessed. “For the intended nationwide network of adaptive antennas in particular, there is no scientific evidence that the precautionary principle can still be observed with the privileged status of Annex 1 No. 63 of the NISV [Verordnung über den Schutz vor nichtionisierender Strahlung],” the law firm writes in its expert opinion. It also states that there is no information on how radiation levels are to be predicted and measured and whether 5G can comply with the radiation limits. The reason for this lies in the new technology itself: 5G uses so-called “adaptive antennas”, i.e. antennas that specifically irradiate users – and people located between the antenna and the receiving device – with maximum power. According to the NISV, these adaptive antennas are now to be treated much more laxly than conventional antennas. According to the expert opinion, this is inadmissible because it could cause considerable damage to everyone’s health. The canton of Zug has therefore already suspended ongoing approval procedures.
International conference in Mainz
The consequences of these technologies are still too little known. What possible effects are to be expected for special risk groups, especially the young generation of children and adolescents? To get answers to these and other questions, the Competence Initiative for the Protection of People, Environment & Democracy is holding an international public conference at the Electoral Palace in Mainz from October 4 to 6. The motto of this event is “Progress or progressive irresponsibility? Biological effects of mobile radio”. The conference will deal with the topic of the ‘biological effects’ of mobile radio in overviews and in-depth discussions that are as generally understandable as possible. Internationally renowned speakers provide first-hand information and recommendations in lectures, workshops, film documentaries and panel discussions and invite discussion.
Generate a harmonic oscillation field
How can you protect yourself and your children from high-frequency radiation and electrosmog? “The law of resonance states that no resonances can occur in an oscillation field with oscillations whose frequencies lie outside those of the field,” says Richard Neubersch, owner of Swiss Harmony in Grellingen, a company that specializes in the harmonization of electrosmog. In other words: In a harmonic oscillation field, artificial radiation has no effect, regardless of who generates it, whether it comes from a neighbor or a nearby mobile phone mast. The mobile products from Swiss Harmony (BioRing, BodyCard, BioBracelet and the BioPatch) harmonize the human body by transmitting the harmonic vibration as information to the human energy system. This means that artificially created radiation fields can no longer resonate.
Protection from harmful radiation
In concrete terms, this means Products from Swiss Harmony for harmonizing houses and apartments ensure that the electricity that supplies a building with electricity receives a different message. “They transfer the information of the visible light spectrum to the passing current via the resonance path, which in turn distributes it throughout the entire effective range of the circuit,” explains Richard Neubersch. The electromagnetic field of the apartment or house thus becomes a harmonious field. In-house WLAN transmitters, cell phones or cordless phones are interference-free because they are connected to the harmonic current field and therefore emit the same harmonic information.
