Resistance to 5G: petition, moratorium, construction freeze

5G is increasingly being recognized as a serious global challenge. People fear serious health risks from mobile communications. In the cantons of Vaud and Geneva, the issue of the 5G standard has been temporarily halted. Things are also boiling over in Germany and Brussels.

The public debate about the new 5G mobile communications standard and its risks to health and the environment is intensifying – in German-speaking countries, across Europe and worldwide. According to a report by the skills initiative, one of the most important documents in the current debate is a paper by the renowned American scientist Martin L. Pall, which he presented to international authorities last year in 2018. This publication, now available in German translation, not only offers a clear, understandable and comprehensible explanation of the possible pathophysiological effects of the increasing radiation exposure caused by mobile and communication radio. It also engages in a determined scientific debate with European and American authorities and industries that ignore progressive findings on health and environmental risks for questionable reasons. One of the results of his analyses is the incontrovertible finding: “There are no tests on the biological compatibility of actual 5G radiation. There is therefore neither a risk analysis nor risk management, because no risk assessment of 5G has yet been carried out.”

Moratorium in the canton of Vaud

In the meantime, some politicians in Switzerland also seem to have realized that 5G mobile technology should not only be associated with progress, but also with potential health risks. – Despite all the downplaying on the part of mobile phone providers. According to an SDA report and a report on gigaherz.ch, the Vaud State Council (executive) has decided on a moratorium on the installation of 5G antennas. He announced this last Tuesday during a debate in the Grand Council on a resolution on this technology. State Councillor Jacqueline de Quattro (FDP) took the floor after a long debate in the Grand Council on a resolution by Green politician Raphael Mahaim. In his text, the MP called for a moratorium on 5G antennas “at least” until the report by the Federal Office for the Environment (FOEN), which is expected in the summer. However, the Grand Council amended the text slightly. By 91 votes to 26, with 13 abstentions, the MPs then stipulated “at least until the summer” instead of “until the summer”. The construction freeze is therefore likely to last much longer.

Overwhelming majority in favor of construction freeze

After the canton of Vaud, the Grand Council (cantonal parliament) of the canton of Geneva has now become the second canton in Switzerland to pull the emergency brake and ban the construction of 5G antennas until further notice, as gigaherz.ch reports. This time even more rigorous than the canton of Vaud: in contrast to Vaud, where only a construction freeze is to be imposed at least until the FOEN working group’s expert report is available, Geneva’s politicians apparently want a construction freeze until independent studies are available that rule out any adverse health effects from 5G radiation. The motion, which is now forcing the cantonal government to act, was passed by an overwhelming two-thirds majority of 58 votes to 28. The government should turn to the WHO, which has its headquarters in Geneva, for independent studies. The independent studies must also include the animal world.

Under the guise of a “minor amendment”

Attention: The moratorium can – according to Hans-U. Jakob from the gigaherz.ch association – only apply to officially published upgrades or new builds. “Now that the mobile phone operators, in cronyism with individual cantonal environmental offices, have started to upgrade their base stations to 5G in a sneaky way under the guise of a “minor change”, i.e. without a building permit, our attention is doubly required. Considering that the WHO is completely infiltrated by the ICNIRP, the so-called International Commission on Non-Ionizing Radiation Protection. And when you consider that this ICNIRP is not an authority, but a purely private, completely industry-oriented association. 54,000 citizens submit petition

Other countries are also talking about 5G. According to a report by diagnose-funk.org, for example, 54,000 citizens in Germany are calling for the Bundestag to suspend the 5G frequency auction. A petition to the German Bundestag to stop 5G mobile communications has reached the quorum with 54,643 signatories and must therefore be dealt with by the Bundestag Petitions Committee. The aim of the petition: “May the German Bundestag decide to suspend procedures for the award of 5G mobile communications licenses and to prevent the introduction of the 5G mobile communications standard as long as there are scientifically justified doubts about the safety of this technology.”

Brussels: Minister calls for temporary 5G stop

Critical voices also from Brussels. Céline Fremault, Minister of the Government of the Brussels-Capital Region, responsible for Housing, Quality of Life, Environment and Energy, explained in an interview with L’Echo (see also report on diagnose-funk.org) that Brussels is halting its 5G plans – at least for the time being – out of concern for health effects: “If I have not stopped looking at this issue since July on the basis of a whole series of basic health directives, it must be said today that it is unthinkable for me to allow the introduction of this technology if I cannot ensure compliance with standards to protect citizens. 5G or not. The people of Brussels are not laboratory mice whose health I can sell at a profit. There can be no doubt about that.” According to the L’Echo report, there appears to have been discussion about increasing the protection level in Brussels from 6 volts/meter (…) to 14.5 volts/meter in order to allow the emergence of high-speed mobile Internet on the one hand, but also to cope with the increase in data consumption on the other. Ms. Fremault notes that a 5G pilot project is not compatible with Belgian radiation protection standards and states that she does not intend to make an exception.

5G forces people to take responsibility
Richard Neubersch, owner of Swiss Harmony , describes in the following video what will change with 5G and that each individual should ensure protection for themselves and their family.
