Between digitalization, forced irradiation and climate protection

Mobile phone radiation has been classified as “possibly carcinogenic” by the World Health Organization (WHO) since 2011. In their current position paper, the Physicians for Environmental Protection (AefU) call for a reassessment, more protection for the population and independent research. Digitalization, and with it the smartphone, is by no means harmless for the environment and climate, as a recent study shows.

For the time being, the Federal Council is maintaining the Swiss limits for radiation from mobile phone antennas (decision of 22.4.2020) and intends to implement measures to make mobile communications more compatible with human health. He based this on the report of his working group “Mobile radio and radiation”, in which the Physicians for Environmental Protection (AefU ) also participated. For years, the AefU has been advocating the consistent implementation of the precautionary principle, including in mobile communications. “It’s difficult to avoid this radiation. It is almost everywhere. Children and young people are particularly affected. They will be exposed to it for the rest of their lives. Reliable limit values must minimize or prevent exposure as a precautionary measure,” demand the AeFU in their latest position paper “Mobile radio and radiation”, which was published in the magazine Oekoskop.

Increased risk of brain and auditory nerve tumors

High-frequency electromagnetic radiation from mobile phones has been classified as “possibly carcinogenic” by the World Health Organization (WHO) since 2011. The AefU is calling for the cancer risk to be reassessed on the basis of important research findings. The health risk of 5G technologies is largely unexplored. Studies have shown an increased risk of brain and auditory nerve tumors with intensive cell phone use. Mobile phone radiation below the ICNIRP limits affects brain waves, cerebral blood flow and cell metabolism, promotes oxidative cell stress, changes genetic material and repair processes in the genetic material, impairs sperm quality and impairs memory and sleep-dependent learning processes in adolescents.

Forced radiation from antennas and devices

According to the AefU, the effects were also evident below the current limits for radiation from mobile phone installations in Switzerland. mobile phone radiation from a “health risk”. This is because: “Most people cannot avoid the almost blanket coverage” (forced radiation from antennas or other people’s devices). This also applies to the most vulnerable among us: the unborn, children, pregnant women and the sick. “From a medical point of view, the precautionary principle is therefore imperative,” the AefU demands. This means minimizing radiation exposure from mobile phone systems (e.g. cell phone antennas), indoor networks (e.g. WLAN, LAN) and end devices (e.g. smartphones, tablets, Internet of Things, etc.).

Independent research required

There is a need for research into mobile communications, especially the latest 5G standard. However, the AefU demands that this research and its coordination must be independent. In Switzerland, this is to be ensured by a balanced, interdisciplinary commission with the involvement of relevant protection associations and representatives of the medical profession. Projects must not be controlled directly or indirectly by the mobile communications industry. No orders may be placed with institutions/persons/companies with economic interests in NIS. “The NIR monitoring (measurement of exposure) planned by the Federal Council must also record peak values and other relevant exposure characteristics in addition to mean values (RMS). NIR monitoring must be supplemented with health monitoring in order to record possible health effects,” the AefU emphasize in their position letter. A national research program is also to drive forward the development of sustainable grid infrastructures (outdoor-indoor separation according to the AefU3 concept), systems and devices. Sustainable means low-radiation and therefore healthier, resource-saving and energy-efficient.

The data is damaging the environment

Speaking of energy efficiency: diagnose:funk has long pointed out that digitalization as a business model for industry is a climate killer. A fact-filled analysis by Guillaume Pitron in Le Monde diplomatique on October 7, 2021 confirms this. The authors of a study by the French think tank The Shift Project, a non-profit organization researching post-fossil economic concepts, link digitalization directly to environmental pollution and climate change. Digital pollution iscolossal and is increasing ever faster. At the same time, the data that people are constantly producing is harming the environment. According to the authors: “Data is transported, stored and processed in gigantic infrastructures that consume resources and energy, generating ever new digital content that requires ever more resources.” For such fleeting processes as sending an email on Gmail, a Whatsapp message, a Facebook emoji, uploading a video to Tiktok or a cat photo to Snapchat, an infrastructure has been created which, according to Greenpeace, will soon be “the largest structure ever created by the human species”.

Smartphone as a climate killer

The figures speak for themselves: the global digital industry consumes so much water, raw materials and energy that its ecological footprint is three times larger than that of countries such as France or the UK. Digital technologies now consume a tenth of the electricity generated worldwide and are responsible for almost 4 percent of global CO2 emissions – almost twice as much as global civil aviation. At the end of the article, author Guillaume Pitron points out a contradiction: “The young people who are rightly taking to the streets today because the climate catastrophe is robbing them of their future have grown up with smartphones. They are attached to the digital umbilical cord. The smartphone organizes their lives, their protests and has almost become a part of their bodies. Many young people perceive criticism of the smartphone as a threat of amputation. They find it difficult to understand that it is a climate killer.”

Another book tip: “Funkstille
In his
book “Funkstille”, Richard Neubersch from Swiss Harmony describes the context in which topics such as 5G, coronavirus and the like can be seen. “The discussions about the connections between corona and 5G are increasing and it has never been more important to keep a cool head. You need to develop an inner attitude that allows you to stay centered at heart despite the extreme situation,” says the author. “Funkstille” is more than just a book about Swiss Harmony and mobile telephony. It sees itself as a help to stay centered in the heart despite the extreme situation that is currently keeping the world on tenterhooks.

Creating a harmonic oscillation field
How can you protect yourself and your children from high-frequency radiation and electrosmog? “The law of resonance states that no resonances can occur in an oscillation field with oscillations whose frequencies lie outside those of the field,” says Richard Neubersch, owner of Swiss Harmony in Grellingen, a company that specializes in the harmonization of electrosmog. In other words: In a harmonic oscillation field, artificial radiation has no effect, regardless of who generates it, whether it comes from a neighbor or a nearby mobile phone mast. The mobile products from Swiss Harmony (BioRing, BodyCard, BioBracelet and the BioPatch) harmonize the human body by transmitting the harmonic vibration as information to the human energy system. This means that artificially created radiation fields can no longer resonate.

Protection from harmful radiation
In concrete terms, this means that Products from Swiss Harmony for harmonizing houses and apartments ensure that the electricity that supplies a building with electricity receives a different message. “They transfer the information of the visible light spectrum to the passing current via the resonance path, which in turn distributes it throughout the entire effective range of the circuit,” explains Richard Neubersch. The electromagnetic field of the apartment or house thus becomes a harmonious field. In-house WLAN transmitters, cell phones or cordless phones are interference-free because they are connected to the harmonic current field and therefore emit the same harmonic information.

Epidemiological study with soldiers confirms the results of laboratory and animal studies: soldiers who used their cell phone more than 20 times a day had a significantly lower sperm concentration on average than soldiers who used their cell phone less than once a week.
