Reduce fuel consumption (Part 1)

We want to reduce the fuel consumption of a vehicle that we recently bought second-hand by installing a CarTuner from Swiss Harmony. This trial will show whether this will succeed. To this end, fuel consumption is to be tracked and documented over a longer period of time.

It is a Mercedes E280 from 2005 (first registration in December 2005).

The vehicle is refueled with regular gasoline.

The mileage when the car was taken over on 28.03.2013 was 85,500 kilometers.

The expected annual mileage is likely to be around 50,000 kilometers. The main area of operation is the whole of Switzerland, including across the Alps to Valais, Graubünden or Ticino.

The first almost 2,500 kilometers were deliberately driven without CarTuner.

The installation was completed on 11.04. made. The odometer was set to zero.

The first picture shows the consumption data before installation. It shows that the average fuel consumption of the six-cylinder without CarTuner was 9.5 liters.

As soon as the car has driven another 2,500 kilometers, the next photo will be published.

Will it show that the CarTuner can reduce fuel consumption?

See for yourself in the second part of our experiment.
